.22 WMR ? No place in SD?

I carry .22 mag exclusively for defense. Either the NAA Black Widow or the 7-shot J-frame.

A new revolver maker enters... Henry

Henry will be making this in rimfire within a few months. I'm happy to see another American manufacturer making wheel guns, and I'm always in favor of blued steel and walnut. Anxious to see the first reviews and tests.

Looking for a .22 Kit Gun

I think the only real answer is the LCRx 3". The steel J-frames are too heavy, while the alloy J-frames at 12-oz may be too light to shoot well. The LCR is 17.3 oz.

Recommend me a DA .22 LR that's actually in stock

I have a S&W Model 17-3 and couldn't be happier. They really do not make 'em like this anymore. Beautiful and very accurate. The trigger feels just like my centerfire K-frames.

Past a certain age it becomes simpler - just go fanny packs front and rear, carry anything you want.

    S&W 60 3" vs Ruger SP101

Another vote for the 3" Model 60. I have one with the full underlug and it performs well.

Mindset Behind Expense Of Carry Piece

Carry whatever you like, for whatever REASON you like. If you feel more secure carrying Dad's old J-frame, go for it. The main thing is to carry.

    Revolvers, a venerated option

Now let's do lever rifles one-handed:

S&W model 36 or pocket pistol.

Model 36. Simple, safe and powerful.

    Henry Big Boy

Lever actions are fun to shoot and simple to operate. They make a good all-around home defense rifle. .357 out of a 16" barrel is nothing to sneeze at, and the recoil is mild.

    22 magnum for a ccw?

I've carried the 2" NAA Black Widow for many years. I have a case of Speer Gold Dot and a bunch of other .22WMR ammo, so ammo availability isn't an issue. I also have .22WMR firearms with barrels of 1", 1.875", 4" and 10.5". The destructive potential really improves in the 4" and 10.5", but...

    S & W 17-4

I have a beautiful 14-3 with the long barrel. It is muzzle heavy but a great shooter. Still, I would trade it straight up for a 6" Model 14 in similar (excellent) condition. I have a 6" 17-3 and like the balance better on the 6".

Carrying "less" in a "good" area. Nope, no thanks.

I carry a 5-shot .22 and some yard tools. No reloads required on the yard tools.

Inferior but nostalgic firearm you have to have?

I always wanted one of the single-shot S&W pistols.

    High Standard .22 Mag Derringer

Paco Kelly used to carry one of these working undercover: "At one time when this Nations Federal drug control agency was the Bureau of Narcotics in the Department of Treasury, I was with it in the 1960s in New York City. It was common when we went undercover to make drug buys, to carry a two...

    .22 snub nose

    I got the S&W Model 63-5, 8-shot 3" barrel. It's a keeper.
