Anyone found decent prices on ebay?

Spotty deals is a good description. A few years back I was able to make some scores, I don't even really check it much any more. When I do the bargains are not really there. It can be useful for just "finding" something however. If you have the cash you can get it in your hands instead of...

    Smart Reloader products??

Saw a press a while back at LGS. The link arms and ram were really loose and sloppy. A novice reloader was looking at it and I pointed out a used Hornady single stage sitting on the floor covered with dirt. Don't know which one he bought but I hope it was the red one. Based on that...

Hollywood Gun Shop Super Turret on Ebay

Wow, expensive but it would look good sitting on the bench! I think all the super turrets have aluminum bases, the universal turrets were made with iron and aluminum bases and the senior turrets were iron and aluminum as well. I do not have a super turret but use the other Hollywood turrets...

    reloading for the 1903

Scythefwd, Thanks for letting me know, glad you are on top of that. If you have found a really good shooter (and a lot of the 03's are) you will really enjoy it. If I had to give up most of the toys, mine would be one of the last to go. It shoots better than I can see anymore.

    reloading for the 1903

Lots of good advice, I prefer the 4895 to duplicate the military ball load (stated above). Remember that rifles with serial numbers before "about" 800,000 did not have double case hardened receivers. My point is to not push these rifles with hotter loads. The receiver may let go. Buy an 03A3...

    Pistol measure

If you are really looking for a bushing type measure check the CH pushbutton pistol measure from the CH4D company. This is similar to the old pacific pistol measure with the bushings on a slide mechanism. Many inserts are available for different powder charges. I have one and it is kind of...

Your favorite all around powder measure?

Have used and liked several. If I had to just take one it would probably be the Redding 3BR. Have both rifle and pistol rotors. Made up calibration charts for common powders so I can I can dial it in to a new weight almost instantly. Two checks with the scale and get charging cases. Still...

How organized is your relaoding room

Two words. Freaking disaster. After a couple of job relocations and home moves everything got crammed into smaller or non ideal spaces. I think it is in the range of 75% in the basement and 25% in the garage. Maybe the next move will be to a spot where I can finally get organized again!

    Powder, Funnels, and Static?

Look around for small metal funnels as well. Reloading suppliers used to make aluminum funnels before everything turned to plastic. I found a couple a while back and they are great. The drier sheet trick works too, I use that in powder measure hoppers sometimes.

    Close call,old powder

As stated above, all powder will break down over time. If stored properly it can last for decades without any changes. Storage conditions can accelerate the breakdown, big temperature changes, high heat. Storing in plastic as RC said has nothing to do with preserving it. With metal you have...

    Close call,old powder

Yep, The scare was the spontaneous combustion part. A couple of pounds igniting in the house would be a disaster. I catalog this as a close call. I know that the rusting and deterioration happened within the last 12 months or so. Could have had a bad ending. The can I had did not look quite...

    Close call,old powder

I was going through a metal filing cabinet that I store a lot of powder in, looking for some gadget stored in there. I happened to notice what looked like rust on the drawer around the bottom of a powder can. Picking up the can (very old Hodgden container of 4831) I could tell the rust was...

Shot Show: RCBS 7 station Pro Chucker Progressive

Sure, I guessed that the support will be there for the forseeable future (I still get parts from them for my 4x4). I was just hoping that they would continue to manufacture for a while. No argument that the primer strip system is a better mousetrap, I am bummed that they seem to be giving up...

Shot Show: RCBS 7 station Pro Chucker Progressive

Did RCBS basically say that the Pro2000 will cease to be manufactured? Are we left to assume this since the sales rep said that the acceptance of the primer strip feeding system has been "disappointing"? It would be nice if they would continue to manufacture the 2000 for a few more years...

Fed up with electronic scale, which beam to purchase

If you can find one that does not cost an arm and leg try a Dial O grain from Ohaus. They also made an RCBS version. Great range and easy to dial in. A little bigger foot print though. Also a fan of the 10-10 (RCBS or Ohaus), that one is the backup now though.

    Help With a Reloading Press

I use this reloading platform but am keeping them going (2 loaders) by cannibalizing another RDP press. If you have used progressive presses before, have mechanic skills and can make precision small machined parts you have a chance. I may have some spare shell plates that I would part with but...

    lots more machines

I have only seen one of these in blurry black and white photos. Glad that someone here has an interest in rebuilding them. Was it Fred Dierks that designed these machines? They really look a lot like the Camdex or Ammoload machines that came later so I am guessing that the Tri-Standard design...

    How many Powder Measures?

A few, couple of uniflows so old that they are painted that crap brown before RCBS went "green", Redding BR, SAECO, 2 Lachmillers, Ohaus duomeasure, couple of CH pushbuttons and a rotary, Belding and Mull, all told about a dozen. I like some of the oldies that have nice designs and features...

Have you ever thought about getting out of reloading???

I have stopped for a couple of years at a time more than once. This was sometimes due to job changes and relocations, sometimes due to waning interest. I do always seem to come back though. Now I am afraid to stop, what the heck would I do with all this stuff then? Way too many gadgets and...
