Can someone compare with Ruger SR22 and Walther P22?

Different folks have different experiences. I’ll agree the the Ruger is likely higher quality, although I don’t have the SR22 (I have a Mark 2 & a Mark 3-22/45). I do have a Walther P22; it is my wife’s favorite handgun and fits her small hands. The slide mounted safety and the paddle magazine...

    Upgrade for pistol security box

Good idea, & I understand perfectly since I have a couple of this style. The cable doesn’t slip out on my security boxes, but they sometimes get pushed farther in and flail against the firearm(s) inside.

Guns You Should Have Bought When You Had The Chance, And Now Regret Not Buying

Wish I’d gotten one of the Russian Nagant revolvers when they were $140. Not a great firearm, but a neat collector piece. I could buy one now at a price that doesn’t break the bank, but I’d enjoy it more knowing how little it cost.

Current guns just don't interest me.

I understand the OP’s sentiment. Modern striker fired, polymer framed handguns are terrific tools. In addition, manufacturers can create new models and/or new generations quickly and economically. I continue to accumulate additional samples occasionally, and my EDC is one of these because it’s a...

If a gun you have malfunctions, would you retire it....

Firearms are machines. Designed by men. Manufacturered by men. And therefore can be repaired by men. For my EDC rotation, each started as reliable; so if it malfunctions, it comes out of rotation until it’s fixed and reliable again. For range use, some designs aren’t reliable (occasional...

    New to Me Kahr CW380

I like Kahrs - 380, .45, 9mm - and have several - CM, CW, & CT models. The CW380 needed a trip back to customer service to reach reliability, but the others have been great. It’s odd that Kahr is a “love ‘em!” Or “hate ‘em!” brand. I’ll admit that I’ve shifted to other higher capacity micro...

Status of Loaded Guns in your home....

As Beck says above, “Sometimes there are simply different ways of doing things when it comes to responsible firearm ownership…” This is a huge nation, from dense urban to isolated wilderness. Everyone’s circumstances are different, and so the correct firearm storage and staging for one isn’t...

Tell me about the PSA Dagger

I blame this forum for fanning the flames of firearm addiction. I had an extra Glock 19 barrel and some extra OEM front and back sights, so after reading this thread I’ve ordered another $49.99 PSA complete frame plus eBay slide and slide kit. When it all gets here, I’ll have another PSA-Glock...

Why Do Weird Things Like This Happen To Me?

Don’t take it personally, I wouldn’t. The fellow didn’t threaten or brandish, only had his hand on a weapon in the presence of a stranger in a semi-isolated area. Regardless of the neighborhood, my hand is frequently in my pocket over my handgun grip in similar circumstances around strangers (I...

I don't understand the popularity of the M&P Shield guns.

S&W, Glock, Sig, … Ford, Chevy, Dodge, … Oh the joy of having choices and being able to buy what suits you best, or at least better. One thing that the top tier firearms manufacturers do better is to establish a reliable model or line, then sustain compatibility through the improvements that...

    Bore Cleaning Snakes?

For handguns- especially modern steel & polymer ones used as tools - bore snakes are great. That’s the only cleaning those barrels get with me. (rifles, safe queens, and heirloom quality firearms are another matter)

Is 5 or 6 really enough in today's world.

How is everyone liking the S&W CSX ?

I got one earlier this year and am happy with it. My EDC was - and most of the time still is - an Sig P928, and my S&W CSX is basically the same manual of arms with higher capacity and only slightly larger size. Depending on what I’m wearing, the CSX is the EDC instead of the Sig. I don’t have a...

    38 Special revolvers

:) Well, since you mention it, there is the Bond Arms derringer and a two Rugers (Speed Six & SP101) in .357 if they count! And I forgot the two .38spl Ruger LCRs - one spur-less and one with hammer spur. (We won’t talk about SA cowboy guns in .45colt, either, in this .38spl thread.) Yes it...

    38 Special revolvers

Five pages of .38spl love! I’m with you fellas; I have three S&W Model 10’s, seven snubbies (Colt, S&W, RIA, Charter, Taurus) and an odd Miroku. I’m trying to stop there. It can become an addiction.

Would you Openly Rock a High Point C9?

I’d say: Rock Island M200 & M206. Range of $250 to $300 (looking at recent Gunbroker sales & adding shipping & FFL transfer fee) I have an M200, and used it as a vehicle gun for awhile.

Would you Openly Rock a High Point C9?

Yep, I own a C9 for grins & giggles - and just to see how it shoots and handles. With the heavy slide it has a unique recoil impulse. I won’t bash it; it shoots to point of aim and has been reliable AND I’ll occasionally take it to the range. But I wouldn’t buy another, my sample of one is enough.

    Honor Defense

To the OP, if this would be a carry handgun, I would recommend against it. I own a couple of Honor Guard’s Honor Defense handguns for range use. The design- as I understand and from examining the internals - is based on the Sig P320. Unfortunately for Honor Guard their design is not reliably...

Looking for a .22 Kit Gun

You have mentioned the good “top end” choices - S&W and Ruger. I have friends who have the Ruger Single Six, and the more handy Bearcat & you can’t go wrong there. Another all steel choice is the Charter Arms Pathfinder. At the lower end are the current Heritage revolvers (6 & 9 round cylinders...

What do you prefer as a non-carried vehicle weapon?

Just answering the OP’s question (not discussing gun storage safety - in my situations I have that covered); so in my vehicle on my loooong daily commute through both rural areas and multiple small & large towns, I prefer: - one handgun at hand (console holster or cross draw belt holster; can be...
