I recently picked up a Hi-Power, and I was seeing how well it concealed without a holster and just a t-shirt (not to actually carry, but just for my own personal curiousity). I stuck it my waistband at about 4:30-5'oclock, and looked in the mirror- a very obvious bulge. The grip tended to stick...
What areas should I concentrate on cleaning on my Hi-Power? I cleaned the barrel, scraped out unburnt powder residue with a brush and patch, and lubed the breach face, slide rails, and barrel hood. Should I do anything else? On a side note, what lubrication and solvent do you reccomend?
I was talking about the trigger assembly pin, the one that holds the whole thing in. Which direction do you tap the mag safety pin (the one on the side of the trigger)? My HP is a new production 9mm SA FN. How do you support the trigger as not to damage it while you hammer out the pin from it?
I taped up my gun, lubed up the trigger pin, got a punch, and started hammering away, and that pin just won't budge! Some people say hammer left to right, others right to left; I tried it both ways and got nowhere. Any tips on taking it out?
Thanks for the tips. I'll see if I could maybe devise a system of ropes/pulleys to pull a moving target. Honestly, I don't practice shooting my shotgun with buck nearly enough just because shooting paper has been so dull (and kind of expensive).
Setup is an 18" 870 Police, bead sight, wood stock, Surefire forend, elastic shell holder in the buttstock.
Often, when sitting at home, I just practice dry firing/ reloads with snap caps.
How can I improve my shooting skills with a surface to surface/HD shotgun? I've got a fair amount of time shooting clay birds, but I imagine that that'd be a whole different set of skills. Shooting a shotgun with buck at a paper target isn't very fun or very challenging, seeing as it is...
It's good that another company is releasing a .38 Super pistol, but at 1.4" wide I wouldn't call it thin by any means. That's wider than the ape-sized .45 Glock 21 (1.27").
If someone were to approach and threaten you with pepper spray or a stun gun (like the one pictured below) and tried to mug you, what level of force would be legally acceptable? What if they actually used the pepper spray/stun gun?
How much experience do you have with firearms in general? If this is your first gun EVER, and you can afford it, I'd reccomend getting a .22 pistol or revolver first, then getting a centerfire handgun (by then, you should have enough experience to decided for yourself if you want an autoloader...
Converting the .40 to 9mm can be done with just a drop in $200 Bar-Sto barrel and maybe new magazines and new recoil springs.
I wouldn't be any more concerned about fring 9mm +P and +P+ ammo in a Hi-Power than any other quality 9mm.
Hello, I'm in negotations right now to buy a firearm from an individual who is out of state, to be transfered through my FFL. Does he have to receive a copy of my dealer's FFL before shipping, or can I just give him my dealer's dealer # and have him verify it via the online ATF EZ Check?
What is a good place to shop for guns, including dealers, auction sites, classified sections, etc? I usually browse the ar15.com EE, THR classified, GlockTalk, gunbroker, gunsamerica, and auctionarms. Are there any good ones I'm missing?
