    Fun gun! S&W M&P 5.7

My shooting buddy picked one up a few months ago. It was easy to consistently ring the 10"x14" steel at 100 yards with the iron sights, and much softer shooting than I had anticipated. He's mounted a green dot holosun on it now, I'm curious to try it with that

Glock triggers - help me please.

That's interesting. I currently have 6 1911's that are all 100% stock. I've owned 4 glocks (Still own 3) The 1911 triggers have all been lighter and crisper than the Glocks out of the box. The heaviest 1911 trigger was 4.75 lbs with a clean break. The lightest Glock trigger was ~6 lbs with a...

Glock triggers - help me please.

I'm not a fan of stock Glock triggers either. I don't like shape of the face of the trigger and the "mushy" feel just before they break. I can shoot ok with them, and they're perfectly functional, I just don't care for them. I have a G19 and a G21, both gen3, and they both felt about the same...

    Silencers - Why?

"This form is used to obtain permission to temporarily or permanently move your registered National Firearms Act (NFA) machine gun, short barreled rifle or shotgun, or destructive device interstate. Persons other than qualified federal firearms licensees (FFLs) or government agencies are...

    Silencers - Why?

Yeah that first part is not true. There are no forms to submit when travelling with a suppressor, as long as it's one of the 42 free states where they're legal. Just keep your tax stamp and paperwork with it and you're good to go.

    Silencers - Why?

I picked up a couple of suppressors last year, and I wish I'd done it years ago. I got one rimfire and one 30 cal centerfire. It's great being able to shoot my 22 pistols and rifles in the backyard without bothering the neighbors. And when I shoot my bolt rifles or ARs, I can shoot for hours...

Lengthening stock of 30 M1 Carbine

Simplest thing would be to make some spacers to put between the stock and buttplate, especially if it's just temporary. Stack washers, wood etc. Someone with a 3D printer could make them easily. That said, I'm 5' 10.2" per the Dr, and my son is 5' 11". Neither of us has issue with the M1...

    10mm or .45 ACP?

Just posted this in another thread, but I'll let this picture answer the question. 45 acp is my favorite caliber, and you can load a wide range of projectiles with a wide range of power, especially when using a revolver. I'm not anti 10mm though, it would be a good choice as well. If Smith...

    Would you Colt 1917?

I know all too well about the Smith pistol caliber revolvers... I think the Colt in the OP is cool, but priced too high for what it is.

    Would you Colt 1917?

I'd Smith 1917, but probably not Colt. Especially at that price. With the modifications and the shape it's in I would probably go $500 max. But that's just me.

    Suppressor Take 2

I've got an R45 that I'm waiting for ATF approval on. I'm ready for it but I've still got a while.

Just in case you've never set off a primer only case, it will probably still be loud.

    Moonclip Question?

With my 625's and 325, I've had good service out of Wilson Combat and TK Custom( the plain black OEM ones) with all different brands of brass and ammunition. I imagine some cartridges like 38/357 are more finicky when it comes to moonclips, but 45acp is pretty forgiving.

What did you score in 2023?

Bought several guns in 2023 - most were fair deals. A couple were a little high, but I was still happy. My 2 favorite that I aquired are the 3" 625 and the 325 Night Guard (seen with my 625JM) I probably overpaid for them, but You don't come across them often 2 guns stand out as decent...

What do you do if you see a grail Gun?

As others have said, if it's a grail gun, unless its astronomically priced, it's coming home with me.

    Astigmatism and red dots

If you look through an aperture or something with a small circular opening while looking through the optic it allows you to view the actual shape and size of the dot. As in Eye => aperture => optic That might give you an idea of the quality, etc. And weather the flaring is the optic or you. I...

How many Ruger 10/22s is too many? Also what is your favorite setup?

I just have the one at the moment, a takedown model. The target or tactical 10/22 builds don't really interest me, so I've just kept it a simple carbine with tech sights. I did modify an old overtons stock to fit it, and get a threaded 16.5" barrel. It's a simple, handy, and accurate rifle.
