    Waiting Time for Suppressor Approval?

Today is the 15 month mark from when this eform 4 was submitted. I just got off the phone with the ATF. It was finally approved Monday, April 22. 3 days short of 15 months. Mixed emotions like many have. Happy as can be. Ready to party. But still mad as all get out about the process. Wyman

    Waiting Time for Suppressor Approval?

eForm 4 submitted Jan 25, 2023 Still waiting 319 days later.:fire: Silencer Shop says to 8 months, with 179 days average.:fire::fire::fire: I was hoping to have it for deer season this year. With only a month left, I'm not holding my breath that I have it by...

    Researching 450 Bushmaster

I agree with all posted, but will add my experience with my newly acquired Bushmaster upper. Shoots great with Hornady Black. I gave Sub-X a try wanting to use it, hunting suppressed. (The suppressor is still in NFA jail for a few more months.) The Sub-X would not cycle the action. Gas port...

    Bear creek uppers

I just this week finally got around to topping off a .450 for this coming deer season. Wanting a side charger, I had been watching uppers for a while. Out of stock, in stock. Full price, on sale. Etc., etc. from BCA. I looked at Midway, at their AR Stoner brand. Lo and behold they had what...

    Relics of War

You probably don’t need to be told, but cherish his friendship. Get as many stories as you can from him to pass on to later generations. If that is what it takes, I’d take him an apple fritter every couple weeks. Just for the stories. Wyman

    Safe Queen Story Time

Actually I have a $10 NCO Samurai sword that my dad bought at a yard sale. My safe queen is a P08 Luger that my dad bought. The story is second hand, but almost his actual words… Long before I was born, he worked at C&S Bank. Left there in ‘81 fairly high ranking at the branch level. I digress…...

    Safes opened after owner dies

Several years ago, I went through all of my guns and filled out tags to hang on each. They are marked with make, model, & serial number. I put the date on it each time I clean it. And I also marked it with what I (or my father if I remember) paid for it. And also the current blue book value...

SD ammo for 1981 Browning Hi Power

Remington HTP. I have a couple Star BMs, and this was the only jhp that they would cycle out of about a dozen assorted loads. Wyman

    Weird/odd/unusually chambered guns

The 1 I’d love to own is 1 of the 3 Lugers produced in .45 ACP for American Trials. Then there was a 1 of, double barrel bolt action, that I saw at the NRA museum in Virginia. I don’t remember the chambering. But it did have double triggers. You could shoot twice and one racking of the bolt...

    Help needed

I’m wanting to load some .300 Blackout with 165 gr Sierra Gameking HPBT. But my problem is that my Sierra book predates the Blackout. And the only Whisper loads are for single shot pistol. I’d be much appreciative if anyone could post a picture, or a scan, of that page in their book. Thanks, Wyman

Lightest butt stock for AR 15?

https://www.smokecomposites.com/stocks They have as low as 3.9 ounces. But for the cost, if you’re not going lightweight everywhere, I don’t see the point. Magnesium, or skeletonized, receivers. Titanium parts throughout. Then do it. Otherwise the balance will start to get off. Wyman

First shot - How old were you and what was it

I want to say I was about 2. I remember my dad holding me up, as well as the gun. The gun was an M1 Carbine. Wyman

FINNALY. My Delisle Silent Carbine is here.

For it shooting low, file the front sight down. That (or replace with a shorter if possible) is all any gunsmith will do. Wyma

Multiple die sets for multiple bullet loads.. (same caliber)

I do this for .300 BO now. With plans to do it in a few other calibers. Yes you can buy just the seating die. But what I’ve done is to buy Hornady sets. I put the size die away for a rainy day and mark the seating die for the bullet it’s set for. Buying the Hornady set, you get the rebate for...

    MidwayUSA shipping time.

Order placed Tuesday evening, 6/23. Order received before lunch, Friday, 6/26. Cheapest shipping available. It’s hard to ask for much better than that. Wyman ETA- I also got the invalid shipping code message. But if you read through that message it states that 1 reason could be that it hasn’t...

A fun thread, what weird wildcat do YOU wish was on the market and popular?

Actually the .264 predates the .300 by about 5 years. And the case for the .300 is longer, by about 1/10 an inch. But the 6.5-300 Win Mag has been done also. Wyman

    Star BM Restoration & Update

They do seem to multiply. Somehow, 1 went in to my safe and 2 more showed up after a couple months. Made 1 a truck gun. In doing so, I tested a bunch of JHP ammo. I found that the Remington HTP functioned in my gun. It has a rounder profile. Almost like a FMJ turned into a JHP. It might be...

    450 Bushmaster

Thanks. I’ll have to give it a try. I knew it was possible with cast lead, but never even thought about it with jacketed. Wyman
