Wow, That is quite a bit there. Also I suppose because of all the Warsaw pact corrosive ammo (Yugo and 5.45)that is still being imported people would want to make sure to clean their bores with more than just a boresnake
As far as I know you only need your FFL for having other peoples firearms in your possesion to work on them and there is no actual ATF requirement to be a certified gunsmith.
As for courses there are from AGI that would help. They have a pretty vast library.
Not sure if some of the others...
Glad it turned out the way it did, could have been much worse had he not been there. I imagine he could state that he still felt that they might return had he not engaged them outside the store.
I pretty much reload my own 10mm as they are expensive to feed.I mostly use new Starline brass but do reload some once fired brass from time to time. The drawback as stated below is some people will load their 10mm hot.
As stated earlier in this thread the case is longer so it is my...
If for some reason you wanted to change receiver covers I am pretty sure a MAK90 one would work for you as I believe they are a little longer. As for the rest sounds like a conversion as most bullet guides I've seen from Combloc rifles were usually riveted in place. Some of the bullet guides...
I am not sure if this is the correct area or not but thought I'd share that Academy has Monarch 7.62x39 ammo priced at $2.99 per box of 20. Not sure if this is in the DFW area only or not. The shelf price is around $4.80 but it rings up $2.99. This ends up to be around $150.00 plus tax per 1000...
30 carbine as I used to have a bolt for one. It was made for the Israeli's. Look in a copy of a Shotgun news and look for what the advertisers are offering.
"Sure.. Here a semi AK averagely cost from 600 to 800 swiss francs (I have a doubt now, aren't you Swiss Chris ? ) ..."
I did a conversion today to figure exchange rates US Dollar to Swiss Franc
600 Swiss Franc= $546.946 USD
It is hard to imagine getting a milled Full auto AK with only the...
I bought 1000 rounds all same headstamp guaranteed once fired .357 Sig for $40 per thousand shipped. If yours are mixed headstamp and unknown on times reloadsed you may want to offer them cheap on gunbroker or sell for scrap price.
Hope this helps
A lot of times if they are "welded" they are actually silver soldered. Hopefully if you can concentrate the heat on the muzzle device you can minimize the annealling of the barrel.
I don't know if you want to spot heat treat the barrel as you will have to get it red hot and then quench but...
7.62x54r will be a little more expensive to reload but there is a lot of Warsaw pact surplus out there right now but it will dry up eventually. The .308 is pretty close to the 30-06 but easier to find in surplus and a lot more surplus brass lately for .308. .308 will use a little less powder but...
My grandfather was a WWII veteran. He survived the beaches of Normandy, liberated a concentration camp and I'm sure other nasty things he never talked about. He was one tough SOB but one of the nicest guys I've ever known. He had a typical German attitude which I suppose came from his...
As a plus you are getting an AK made in Russia like the originals. I have heard the redo on the Saiga 7.62x39 is a little complicated if you've never built an AK before and want to change stocks, magwell or the trigger assy to the original AK configuration.
