The Bantams just slip on and off. Ive had them on and off mine at least 3-4 times without issue. Pocket carrying, the rubber is a non-issue. IWB carry is a non-issue with your shirt tucked in. With your shirt un-tucked, it might grab a little bit but I've never had much of a problem with it.
I really like the Hogue bantam grips on my 442. They are inexpecisve and have held up much better than the factory grips. They are a little grippy, so if IWB carrying it may cause your un-tucked shirt to ride up a bit, but they are fine in a pocket.
Another vote for the Apex kit. I have installed them on my 442 and 642 with great success. Also a very light smoothing out of any rough edges on any parts that ride together and a small amount of quality lube in the right places makes a big improvement over factory.
I don't have any experience with the Henry single shots, but I do have a CVA Scout in 300BLK that I have been very pleased with. The trigger is excellent, and the rifle is made with hunting in mind.
I'm sure a model in 45-70 would be a shoulder thumper, but I assume you are prepared for that.
I just got one of these for my rifles: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1024647560?pid=599388
Its much improved over the old elastic style cuffs, this one is very grippy and stays put. I plan to buy a few more.
I've got the 10.5 inch Nitrided PSA upper and have been very happy with it. I haven't shot it a lot yet because I'm still waiting on my suppressor but I have no complaints.
The off-centered part is a non-issue for me. The cratering and flattening of some if them indicates to me that you may approaching excessive operating pressures. Potentially a tight throat or head-spacing issue, but that might be nit-picking. I would keep shooting it, monitor it for any changes...
The finish loss on the frame doesn't bother me as much as the cylinder. Its been impossible to keep it rust free. Its pitted pretty bad now in a few spots.
As for the Kershaw, I've had several of this model over the years. Hands down absolute best knife for what I use it for.
This 442 Pro-Series has ridden many miles with me. It needs another good cleaning and the finish has seen better days but internally it’s great. The factory grips fell apart several years ago but the Hogues have been solid. Most of its life has been IWB but occasionally it’s in a pocket.

I've got the blued version that has quickly become my go-to farm gun. Its quick handling and with cowboy loads it isn't punishing to the ears if I have to pop a varmint without ear protection. I'm about to order a saddle ring for it and try using a single point sling with it.
I would love to...
I love AKs and x39. I wanted pretty close to what you have described. I had a Draco 10 years ago and traded it for a regular AK as the muzzle blast was not pleasant.
This past month I finally finished a 10.5 inch 300 Blackout with a brace that I have been very pleased with so far. Yes, steel...
While I was shopping around for a 10.5 300blk upper recently, I had it narrowed down between PSA or Bear Creek. I went with PSA, mostly because of the rail, and it was on sale for $279. I've been pleased with it.
Let me preface all of this by saying that I don't and have never owned a 38-55 rifle but have researched them some.
H&R made a 38-55 Target rifle that I wanted to get as a companion to my H&R Buffalo Classic 45-70. Some had issues with inconsistent bore diameters and I never actually found one...
It should be noted that their are two groups of people in this thread; One who thinks thats a good day of shooting, and the others that scoff and think something is wrong with you or your choice of firearm.
We could further surmise that those two groups of people could be equally divided by...
