Hi all, I just ordered 1600 rimrock 158gr lswc for my 686 smith. I've had some suggestions on the forum that 7.3gr be86 is a good load for a mid-range .357 using an extreme 158gr plated swc. Will plated load data work for lead bullets in this caliber with this bullet? I can only find data from...
There's a S&W 686 on Gunbroker right now that has some extensive custom engraving. What do you think—is this one ugly, beautiful, or somewhere in between?
No, I am not bidding on it. I am just curious as to what people think.
I received a new firearm borescope for Christmas. It has been really interesting looking at all my firearm barrels and learning how to use the new tool. It has its own screen and can be used without needing to use other devices like my phone.
One interesting find I had is on my Beretta 686...
I'm looking at some VZ Grips to add to my S&W 686. I'm wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare the VZ 320 pattern (https://vzgrips.com/products/vz-320-s-w-k-frame-grip-l-frame-grip-round-bottom.html) with the VZ Tactical Diamond pattern...
Anybody have any experience clamping a V3 onto a 686 ? TIA
Its my first handload pistol cartridge & need to know fps,

I like to learn as much as I can about any of my firearms. My newest addition is a No Dash Smith and Wesson 686 with a 4 inch barrel.
I seem to be having issue (online) to find much information about this gun. One of the questions I have, what grip came as original with this gun? I know that...
I have a 4" S&W 686+ that I cherish as my woods gun. I've been carrying right-side belt in a Galco leather holster - however, I've found that with it's high-riding nature, it can get in the way when carrying a pack.
I'd like to find an across-the-chest rig to remedy this - does anyone have any...
Between both of these revolvers which one is made better, more accurate and better for personal protection?
Take note the Ruger that I know of does not make 7 shot revolvers.
The Smith comes in both 6 shot and 7 shot revolvers 586 and 686.
The Smith & Wesson brand is always more expensive...
When I fire the loading gate opens. What I have read is the loading gate spring and ball is missing. I have ordered these items. Just wondering if this is a diy or should take it to a smith. Anyone fixed this problem? Thanks
