Good luck and don’t leave any air gap.Well, there's a bunch a these threads. Just tossing mine in the pile. Traded some gift cards to a relative for this top break, black powder era IJ. Always wanted one of these. Now to get dies, cases, and lead bullets or a mold.

Kids were smarter back then. Parents... not so much. The real beauty of those IJs is that you can leave them laying around when the kids have friends over ... as the girl’s PJs declare: “Papa says it won’t hurt us”.

Here’s a shot of my .38 S&W IJ taken after a cleaning session ... she had belonged to my grandfather & though it shaves lead like a snow cone machine shaving ice, range time is always a special time.

So, i can use this revolver in single action mode, but not DA. When i pull back the trigger, the hammer wont go back. Is this due to a broken "lifter" ?
