I was at a Gun show yesterday and had brought my Flaig's (280 Rem.) made on a 1910 Argentine action, just to see what kind of action it would bring.
I had one dealer tell me that I should just say it is a Mauser action.
When I did a search only 1909 actions came up, am I wrong?
I remember a old friend telling me that custom makers liked the 1910 action over others, was it because of the hinged floor plate?

I've been collecting 1909 Argentines for thirty years........never heard of a "1910" Argentine.
The 1909 Argentine was the only military Mauser with a commercial hinged floorplate.

It's been a while I might be off a year.

You likely have a 1909 model, manufactured in 1910.

Custom rifle builders like the Argentine Model 1909 action, because it was the only military Mauser that had commercial rifle features of the hinged floor plate with release in the trigger guard, and the commercial pear-shaped bolt handle.
The 1909 was as well finished inside as most pistols were outside.

Back in the 80's a Guns & Ammo Annual had an article on why gunsmiths like the 1909 and it was for the commercial features and high commercial level finish.
The author said that it was so finely made by DWM that in order to replicate it would cost in excess of $3,000, and that was in 1980's dollars.

The Argentine 1909 by DWM was the finest quality military Mauser ever made, rivaled only by the Brazilian DWM Model 1908. The 1908 didn't have the commercial features.

Here it is: I bought this because it looked so good (I am left handed!)
