I love the Redhawk. The older ones that is. I really like my blued 44. It is great when I go in the forest or when I camp. And I really like the 5.5 barrel. I have hunted many critters with this gun.
Biggest animal taken with it was a Mulie Doe outside Goodland KS. 40 yard shot. Used a 240gr hard cast swc. Anyone carry or shoot the ole Redhawks?

I carry a 4" SS Redhawk when muzzleloader hunting .

I was once stalked by a black bear while deer hunting . I like to have more than 1 shot , just in case . The .44 makes me feel better when only carrying a muzzleloader .

I have a couple older .44 mag redhawks - a 5.5 stainless and my blued 7.5 /scoped ... I did not want the blued but walking by the case back in the day and the blued was marked down to 289.00- glad I did not pass it by! I got a .45 colt stainless 7.5 hunter/scope redhawk a while back thats no slouch each

I like em and used to shoot the heck out of the 44's
