I have one of the older model Redhawks. It is a blued 5.5. I love this weapon. I don't understand why Ruger stopped making them. My is from 1989. I have shot some serious handloads out of it from time to time. It is a brute when it comes to soaking the recoil up.
I shoot 240 grain SWC behind 7grns Unique for practice.
Anyone else have a blued 44 Redhawk? You sure don't see to many of them out there. And I think the 5.5 is the best in length for wood carry and for hunting anything 100 yards in. Your thoughts also ?

I was sure you were wrong and headed over to the Ruger website to find it and dang it man. They don't offer the Redhawk in blued at all. What a bummer.

The older I get the more I appreciate wood and blued steel.

At least you got one of them anyway.

I don't think they have offered a blued Redhawk for quite awhile. I've never even seen one to be honest. Only stainless

I have a 5.5" .45 Colt stainless, also no longer featured. It is my "Ruger only" load gun. My system to ensure segregation of ammo not in the box is to keep it in Speedloaders or Speed Strips. That way I know it is not intended for my Vaquero or my Henry rifle.

One of the blued versions sold recently on GB ( but not your 44).
