Nightforce used to make a 2-piece 20 MOA picatinny base that has been discontinued. Anybody aware of a someone making something similar? I have one set of the Nightforce bases and really like them. Thus far I've not been able to find an equivalent set from another manufacturer.

It is slow as molasses at the moment ...

ETA: Doesn't look like they have 2-piece bases.

Ha! I found and ordered the last set of NF A114s in stock at Mile High Shooting Accessories! That will do me for the moment, but I'm still interested in finding another source.

I don't see any two-piece bases at the EGW, Aeroprecision, or Ken Farrell sites. Seems like one-piece rails are the norm now.

An ugly solution…mount a single piece, and bring out the Demel….not saying it is the best solution, but a solution….

I actually thought of that. One could use a jig to make a nice clean cut before mounting. You'd then have to Cerakote or otherwise finish the cut surface. I might experiment with an inexpensive base to see if it's workable.

Or I could just go with Talley integrated bases and rings; they make a 20 MOA set.

The only place I prefer 2 pieces over 1 piece is on ladies at the beach.

What’s driving your preference for 2 piece bases? Weight? Port clearance/access?

Not for nothing, but if I found myself wanting 2 piece pic mounts, I’d consider cutting apart a quality 1 pc from a proper maker before I dug to even the second or third tier of more obscure manufacturers. I’d also be tempted to bed the rail before cutting to better ensure alignment after the cut. I’ve also milled (and “milled”) bevels into a lot of 1 pc mounts to offer more port access.

But I’d almost always prefer 1pc mounts - we asked for that kind of solution for a long, long time before pic rails finally became broadly available, and now we have them.

Or you just saw the mount and machine the last .040” or so you left for a finish pass with the mill.

If you worried about the finish and shipping, I’d do the cutting and milling for you.

Thanks for the offer. I don't have an immediate need at this point since I picked up another set of NF bases. The question has now become a bit more academic than practical.
