Here we go, after hunting a week and a half straight and seeing next to nothing in stands and "ambush" hunting, my father and I decided to jump some pond dams for ducks or geese. After about a half mile walk to this pond in the flint hills of Kansas we spotted some deer on an adjacent hill. In typical fashion neither of us had a rifle in hand so after sprinting back to the truck to find I had left my rifle at the house, I grabbed my fathers M77 25-06 w/ 120 gr core lokts and set a new weighted flint hills 800M record. Fortunately I had sighted his rifle in last season and i was able to sneak up the dam of this pond for a prone shot across the little valley. Measured on google earth to a 360 yard shot, second longest I've taken but felt good and worked out quite well.
