.22-250 rifling twist

Don't forget - when the 22-250 came out every one was looking for SPEED- ....and the 22-250 would chuck light bullets to "almost" the velocity of the 220 swift without the stigma of "burning" out barrels-
It was really never intended for long range target or deer hunting- it was a superfast varmint round.
With new bullet technology it has developed into a wonderful long range target cartridge and is acceptable for deer with the correct bullets-

I’ve read about people blowing up lightly constructed varmint bullets in fast-twist .22-250’s, but any decently constructed bullet should be able to handle the RPMs on the way to the target.

I have a Folgers coffee can full of new .22-250 cases that I was given. If I can find a faster-twist rifle in my price range, I just may put those cases to use.

Stay safe.

Ruger is one of the few that make a 1-9 twist.
Midway had Savage prefit in 8 twist.
