I dug to the back of my safe and pulled out an old rifle I haven't shot in years, a Ruger No. 1 V Varminter .22-250, it has a Heavy barrel with 1/14 twist, I have several other .22-250 with different twists and usually shot 60 grain bullets for hogs out of them, any input on what grain bullet would perform best out this 1/14 twist and rifle?

I used the Barnes TSX 53 grain to shoot deer out my .22-250 and my .224 Weatherby with 1-14" twist for years with great luck . They were stable out to 400 yards and groups great at that range - 3".

Heavy bullets will shoot most accurate from a 1:14 twisted 22-250. I'd try some 70-gr. one's.

1-14" twist will NOT stabilize any 70 grain bullet unless it is the old Speer 70 semi pointed .224 bullet which I had to load compressed full power loads and they were stable to only about 300 yards before starting to go sidewise thru my Ruger #1 Varmint but in close under 300 yards on blacktail deer they were very deadly tumbling all the way thru. Back in the 80s that was the only 70 grain .224 available FWIW
