:what:Looking for opinions rock island .22 tcm auto for defense. You would have 17 rds of high velocity ammo to use with no recoil . Less hang ups due to bottle neck ammo. 40 grain @ 2000 fps has to do some damage. Even the muzzle blast would be a factor. What are your opinions?

uuh.. i wouldnt, youre going to have low momentum, poor penetration, little to no expansion, just stick with a 9 mil

While I wouldn't want to be shot with one, I prefer slugs with much more weight and diameter. So far, I haven't had to deal with an attacking horde of ground squirrels.

I haven't shot the TCM, but I've read where others say it is incredibly loud. If that's the case, you have to ask yourself if you're OK with losing your hearing when you will quite possibly need it the most.

Have carried, would carry again. I think is an excellent choice for people with recoil issues, and a good choice all around. i have a bit of concern about the flash but I don't think that's any worse than a 357.

I started with a 5" double stack thinking it was mostly range toy. I now have 4.25" (one double stack, one single) for carry.

I suggest getting a later model (feed ramp on barrel) for reliability. Armscor replaced my 4.25" frame-feedramp doublestack with a barrel-feedramp version due to feeding issues. They were great to deal with btw, but who wants to ship guns around when you could be shooting them?

I have had mine for about two weeks and already fell in love with it. Before the .22 tcm I shot mostly .45 acp and .45 long colt, never did I think I would be happy with something this small. I bought the .22 tcm rifle first because of a rifle I had years ago,a .256 in a Marlin. I killed the largest buck ,a 11 point with a head shot. I'm 73 and have had a very large bunch of guns and this weapon is the most fun gun I have ever had.
Let me shut up
Have a good nite

I only just found a TCM rifle I could order so I've never played with one. Want to though. The pistols are a blast!
