When out shooting with a friend, his SAR 3 had a couple of bolt over base malfunctions, with different magazines, all were steel, with two locking dimples on the floor plate (not sure where/who made them). The offending rounds had evidence that the bolt hit the base of the shell OK, but apparently the feed lips were just rough enough to cause the bolt to bounce over the base and wedge over the round. What are the best mags for his 223 AK? Will polishing the underside of the feed lips of the mags cure the problem, or is this common?
Thanks for any info.
