newbie here and im somewhat new to reloading, about 1 year experience, bought some CCI #41 primers. i did not realize that they are similar to magnum primers. could anyone give me some recommendations on working up a load with these primers? Ill be using Viht N133 powder, lake city brass, 55 gr soft points. was going to start around 20 grs and work up from there. should i watch for pressure signs as if i was using a regular primer?

Start at whatever point the manual lists and go up from there. The primer was specificly designed for the military loadings with ball powder in the 5.56. The difference between them and the CCI450 mag primer is simply the cup thickness. They will work just fine in your 223.

BTW Speer lists them in their later manuals as an acceptable sub for the CCI-450 in their loads

VV load guide has a "Start" charge of 22.1gr of N-133 with two different 55gr bullets. Start there.
