I have shot 58 and 65 grain V-max's forever in my .243 REM Varm'. I'm getting ready to try 70 and 85 grain bullets. In 1970 my first .243 used to shoot 85 gr. Sierras pushed by 44.5 grs. of old H4831 with a vengeance. So...What are you shooting(bullet & powder) with 70 or 85 grain bullets? Thanks

I'm sure your old loads are still relevant, but check out Alliant and Hodgdon load sites for the most up to date data, and coverage of some of the latest new powders available.
Alliant's Rel-17 can push the 243's medium weight bullets to the next level. Like anything new, you'll need to check it out in your rifle to see if it shoots for you.

And ya, Sierra's still shoot really well.

I'm working with 70gr Speer TNT and 75gr V-Max bullets. Bought a pound of H414 (Win 760), Superformance Big Game and had some Varget. Summertime project to gauge how well these combos work. Would love to hear others input on these as well.

87 grain VMAX with 44.5 grains of IMR 4831, I'd say the H4831 would be about as good. It's a new bullet but the same old powder. About 1/2 moa in my savage. Excellent yote load!:)
