24hrs to choose my EDC for a 10 day trip.

I have a bunch of friends up that way. High desert, Joshua Trees, three seasons (no real fall). If it wasn’t sort of isolated way up on Hwy 62 from I-10 and the low desert (broiling hot Palm Springs, etc) it would be a more popular place to live.

It looked like one of their LGS (Bear Arms) either moved or completely closed down. They always had a decent selection of used guns, if it wasn’t 85 miles from home I woulda bought a 20 ga Model 12 they had in the rack last year. (The dumb 10 day wait means two trips there and back..) I didn’t get a chance to stop and read what was posted on their door to see what was up..

Many retired Marines call it home!

Probably woulda driven the cost up to where it was too overpriced. The M-12 wasn’t cheap (priced at high blue hook for condition, I’d estimate) but it was in very nice shape.

If it was local I mighta-woulda done it...

When my wife and I drive to Houston from Oklahoma for her medical appointments, I wear my 4" Model 65-1 and my 2" Model 12-2. Her Model 681 (no dash/M) rides in the Jeep console.
