265gr For .300 Blackout

Looks like I failed to update this thread before it got buried. Lots of things seem to be sucking up my time lately.

I ended up going to shoot a bunch of these 265gr bullets and on the initial outing I had a lot of trouble getting them to run up the feed ramp properly. I also couldn't get the bolt to pick up the next round. I kept shooting the gun single shot just to dial in the scope and ended up with a dead-center bullseye on the last shot. Admittedly I was only shooting around 50-60 yards. Sadly I didn't think to take any pictures but the groups were tight.

Due to the feeding issues, I went back to my bench to fix what I assumed was a pressure issue. I kept the charge weight at the recommended 10.0gr of 4227, but seated several batches of bullets increasingly deeper into the case. I also cleaned the gun even though it didn't look all that dirty.

When I went back out to test again, I was able to get the original load and OAL to cycle, so I ditched my plans to shoot the deeper seated bullets. I am hoping to do some accuracy testing sometime soon at 50 to 100 yards. If I can get good groups I will will push out further after that.

Can't wait for the accuracy testing, as I would like to see if they are stable. My 300blackout always get shot with suppressor and I have a lot of experience loading 300blackout but have not been able to get the 245gr MBC bullet to stabilize and use with suppressor.

If you visit my http://www.dayattherange.com/?page_id=3460 I have a ton of load data spread over 5 rifles and 245's aren't on there because I could not get them to stabilize so I am curious about the 265's.

I will check that out. I was supposed to get a call to come out to a friend's property today for some longer range shooting and testing but he got tangled up with some other things.
