I wouldn't recommend it as anything other than a varmint bullet unless you are loading to .357 Magnum levels. According to Hornady, fragmentation issues develop above 1850-1900 fps. Remington makes a 150gr CL-PSP load if you want speed.
I also was thinking of using the 140 grain FTX bullet to a make some light recoiling 35 Remington plinking / varmint loads.
As DWFan states, I would hold muzzle velocity around 1600 to 1880 feet per second, unless I was trying to vaporize small critters.
My problem is that the reloading manuals that I have seen have no info for this bullet. Heck, a couple of reloading manuals I looked at don't list the 35 Remington cartridge at all for rifles.
I assume that even a case full of Trail Boss would fall short of 1600 fps at the muzzle. My guess is that 4759 or 4198 might have potential, but as far as a proper/safe charge weight, not a clue.
