.38 Special Wrangler?

I still don't know why Ruger wouldn't have already made an all-steel Single Six based 38 Special if it is at all possible to make one based on the aluminum-and-zinc-alloy Wrangler.

PS - And apparently it is somewhat possible, based on Jim Watson's post just above (#50).

Ruger and the other companies still keep on making revolvers though. And Ruger has even introduced some new plastic framed revolvers within the last few years. So the market must still be enough to make it worthwhile.
And all of their SA and DA revolvers are still in production.
And, there is the recreational shooting factor. People like to shoot all kinds of obsolete and surplus guns just for the fun of it.

Would it sell? I don't know.

I think it’s an interesting idea and I’d love to see it come to fruition and be successful. I’m all for more folks buying and shooting all kinds of firearms.

I’m just not sure about the economic viability.

All you shooters who want this gun should send Ruger an email. They brag about their attention to the “Voice of the Customer “. Maybe if enough folks chime in, it can become a reality.

It won't have to be bigger, the custom Ruger plumbers have done it on Single Six frames.

That about sums it up. :D
While the boffins and eggheads calculate engineering stresses and strains, in the end it comes down to:
"Let's make one and see what happens."
