WC 145 thank you for the scoop question you said you had the internals coated in the IONBOND coating Does this make it slicker thus making it feel like it has an amazing trigger pull?

Peter thank you for the amazing photos and yes I can see why you like les baers

I have a Star Super A in 9mm Largo that I adapted to fire supers by opening up the breech face for the super's .405 semi-rim. (A 9mm is .395) All other dimensions are nearly identical between the two. I shoot the weak loaded stuff that passes for 38 Super factory ammo these days, but I stay away from the specialty loads that actually load the super up to its full potential. With Remington factory ammo, the empties barely dribble out the side and land three feet away. I have fired Largo ammo that seemed a lot hotter, and threw the empties fifteen feet. (No, it Wasn't sub-gun ammo). I could probably fire full power Super ammo but why take a chance?

I love the Super round. It is powerful and easy to load. Bullets in all weights are plentiful. Plenty of different powders to choose from. Lead even works well with the proper hardness cast bullets. What's not to like?

(That dumb semi-rim)

Oh, well.....

I agree with Tark, the semi-rim was dumb but hey, for its its time (38 Auto) it made sense.

I do love my 38 Supers for the same reasons especially the lead aspect. Cheap to keep fed once you get the brass.
