I have some 215 grain lswc and some 215 grain berry’s plated round nose.
Would like to use 2400 to reload these any help would be greatly appreciated

Just understand that 2400 is intended for full-house Magnum level loads... not medium range loads that lead and plated bullets are intended for. I would look at Unique (or similar) for those bullets... and I do. I just loaded 500 215grn cast SWC's over 9,0grn Unique this weekend.

If your lead swc bullets are hard cast, 17.5 gr. of 2400 should show you some good accuracy with good velocity.
The plated bullets you might want to think about using 7-8 gr. of unique. What ever powder you use with those you'll likely want to keep the velocity around 900 fps tops.
2400 works well in my 41 for cast bullets, and jacketed altho I seldom shoot jacketed in it. I prefer to cast my own from Lyman #2 alloy.

Depending on what he's shooting them in. It sounds like they are commercial cast bullets, so they are probably, typically, too hard. I've had issues with leading in my .41 pistols running them too fast, although I've done it. Accuracy usually suffers after about 50 rounds.

Most commercial cast lead are too small, and that's more of the cause of leading than being "to hard". The bevel base's most commercial cast bullets have don't help keep down the leading either.

No, that's all true. I just switched to Montana's Keith bullet, square-based and sized right. It shoots like the Dickens out of both pistols and the 1894.

Agreed. This is a nice target load with 220 gr plated bullets. I prefer 8 gr of Unique but be sure to check your load manual for safe load data.

I carried that load in my Ruger all during calving season. It was plenty accurate for coyote, and that 41 with the One Ragged hole rear sight was great for night fighting the coyotes when they would come into the corrals looking for an easy meal.
