These converted '60 Armys were built by Kenny Howell using ASM revolvers as a base. They are chambered in 44 Colt and have 5" barrels, no ejector rod and the loading lever/ plunger hole was filled and blended. The finish isn't a high polish but the bluing is very nice and even. I'm not sure who did the color case on the frame and hammer but it's an excellent job. I'm sure some of the members here know more about these than I do.
They are very nice to look at but the owner has never fired them (they were horrendous). Short arbor, no headspace, had to make a new 2 fingered hand for one of them . . . just a new mess around every corner!!
I had to develop some new setups to take care of the headspace problem which will be a very nice addition to setting up cartridge conversions in the future. This particular project is responsible for some significant growth in my abilities and am glad I took it on!!
Now these function flawlessly with. 002" endshake, .005" headspace and all the other normal Outlaw Mule goodies!! The owner bought them to shoot, now he'll be able to!!
