I'm using a light load for steel plates. 5.2grains Unique, 230FMJ at 1.260 OAL. Functions well in a G30. I may not set the world on fire, but recovery time between shots is great and it holds POA = POI out to 25 yards.
I measured some S&B and Winchester USA rounds, they measure 1.260 or thereabouts, so I patterned my load based on this standard OAL. It works.
I have also run through some 230FMJs with 5.4 grains of Unique at 1.230 OAL. They also functioned fine, but I wanted to minimize recovery time so went to the 5.2grains @ 1.260 and have been happy with it.
Coincidentally, I also use 5.2 grains Unique behind a 180 grain FMJ in a 40S&W. Also use this for steel plate shoots in a G23. It will not reliably cycle a Ruger P944 but works great in the Glock.
