I've got a question which may sound very simple for some of you guys. Both rounds .45 Schofield and .45 Colt are same caliber, but Schofield is slightly shorter correct? Similar to what a .44 Special is to .44 Magnum, .38 special is to .357 or but not like .22WRF is to .22MRF (WMR) since they are the same length also both .224. more like a .22 long vs. .22 long rifle both .220
example In my Ruger Vaquero I could shoot .44 special or magnum. or my GP100 I could shoot .38 spl and .357 magnum.
"Short Colt vs. Long Colt"
Why wouldn't an American Derringer set up for .45 colt and .410 accept and shoot .45 Schofield as well? Are they not a compatible variation? THANKS!
If other assumptions or statements are off kilter please validate too. PEACE.
