I think my “dremel” Is a DangZoo, made in E. China, a suburb of W. LA…
But it works, and does the job.

Mine is an actual Dremel. The sidewinder attachment is my favorite accessory. I like it enough to show the company some well earned respect.I think my “dremel” Is a DangZoo, made in E. China, a suburb of W. LA…

I got the one with the attachment that makes it look like a dentist drillMine is an actual Dremel. The sidewinder attachment is my favorite accessory. I like it enough to show the company some well earned respect.
With 700X going into retirement I have started working with Ramshot Competition for my target loads. It’s one of the faster powders and burns very evenly. No case scorching either.I found that my 45's like the shoulder of the SWC's to just touch the leade going into the lands. I usually pull the barrel and seat the bullets until the will drop in from just proud to flush and go from there.
For the seating stem thing, I've taken that flat cup shaped plug and chucked it in a drill press and filed the little rim off on a couple different ones to facilitate more variety in flat bullet noses. The key then is to use just enough flare on the case mouth to set the bullet in straight as it goes into the die.
Good luck with your testing, I use the 185, 200, and 220gr SWC's for general shooting and target practice. I finally settled on Bullseye for most all of the loads, but have used AA-2 and 5, Unique along with several other fast powders through the years.
I pull my extractor and firing pin out once in awhile, maybe every 500 or 1K rounds and give them a good cleaning, as well as cleaning the tunnels they sit in. I find a q-tip just the right size for that. I do a complete strip and clean (nothing left on the frame or slide) about once a year. And don't forget to change the springs every few thousand rounds, it really makes a difference in function and felt recoil. That extract was completely gunked up! WOW! looks like dried Cosmoline
Ooh yeah! chunks was coming out of the tunnel! Didn’t you just get a 3D printer?Sounds Doable, I’ll break out my Dremal and do a test with Mod plug vs un-Mod plug. Got until Wednesday, 20 minute job!
Yeah I did. I don’t know to design yetDidn’t you just get a 3D printer?
Glad that adjusting the tension took care of it. If it feeds and ejects reliably then you're good to go. You can use the link I sent you to tune it if you want but it sounds like it may not be necessary.Robert Defense surprise me the most. Feed the SWC after a lighten the extractor.

it’s very interesting that .2 grain of powder will effect guns differently.Glad that adjusting the tension took care of it. If it feeds and ejects reliably then you're good to go. You can use the link I sent you to tune it if you want but it sounds like it may not be necessary.

You're very welcome. Be sure to check out some of the other sticky's in that gunsmithing section, a lot of information on 1911's that's well worth reading. Thanks for the HELP!
That's one of the advantages of reloading, tailoring a load to your gun. A couple tenths can make a difference to a good shooter.it’s very interesting that .2 grain of powder will effect guns differently.
Now work on down and see how low you can go. With small charge of powder I always step in 0.1gr. I think you will like it around 4.2-4.1gr. Remember WST is Reverse Temp Sensitive. So it looses velocity as the temp goes up.Alright RANGE Report:
Such a relaxing day at the outdoor range. 48 degrees, cold and sunny and blue sky. Yes, global warming is welcome in Seattle.
5-7 yards
Robert Defense surprise me the most. Feed the SWC after a lighten the extractor. Did not like 5.0 grain at ALL! but group kept tightening up as I got lower charge
BTW: 5.0 grain of WST and 200 grain bullet has a KICK!
T-Sauce 1911 with the Demel Job (FAILED) it ate everything but hated everything too! So no, you can polish a gun to shoot as good as a $2,000 or $4,000 gun
Night Hawk eats every thing and loves everything!!! that’s why this gun is $4,000 retail
The checkering separates the men from the boys. It's been 20 years since I checkered a front strap on a 1911.The hardest part was doing the hand checkering. My hands hurt for weeks after doing it.
