Hello friends,
I have a few different bullets I want to experiment with for the 454 casull. I have a variety of functional objectives in mind as I begin to reload for this cartridge and when it comes to hunting loads and cast lead plinking loads I think I know what I'm going for, but I have a hankering to try and shoot a solid coppper projectile extremely fast and I want to talk about that.
The firearm we are loading for is a Ruger Super Redhawk 454 Casull 7.5" with a Leupold 2.5-8x32 scope.
Gun: https://ruger.com/products/superRedhawkStandard/specSheets/5505.html
Scope: https://www.leupold.com/vx-3-handgun-25-8x32-duplex-riflescope
135gn solid copper: https://lehighdefense.com/452-caliber-135-grain-xtreme-defense-lead-free-bullets-50-count.html
205gn solid copper: https://lehighdefense.com/452-caliber-205-grain-xtreme-defense-lead-free-bullets-50-count.html
220gn solid copper: https://lehighdefense.com/452-caliber-220-grain-xtreme-defense-lead-free-bullets-50-count.html
250gn solid copper: https://lehighdefense.com/452-caliber-250-grain-xtreme-penetrator-lead-free-bullets-50-count.html
The only one of these bullets with any 454 load data is the 250gn extreme penetrator, but I was thinking I could really get that 135 zipping if I could find a load for it. I don't trust quickload with my life but I was going to play around with it and see what a bunch of H110 or Lil' Gun would do theoretically.
Has anyone tried supercharging any of these light solid coppers? Any experiences?
