7.62X39

I reload mine. When i 1st got started in 7.62x39 i bought sellar and bellot. When my brass is starting to split. I'll buy more S&B. I like it. PS why can't you buy Wolff?
Importation of Russian ammo has been banned for over a year since Putin invaded Ukraine. The distributors had massive quantities already in US warehouses, but its finally starting to dry up.

PPU may not be available soon either, as the Balkans are on the brink of another war and the Serbs will need all they can get for local consumption. Serbia is also landlocked and any exports would be difficult to get to neutral port even if they aren't embargoed.

If you need cheap non corrosive simply empty the contents of surplus ammo into primed cases and reseat the bullets.

It is signifigantly more expensive than days gone by, but there is still lots of Wolf ammo available, and also lots of other steel case ammo coming in from other countries

When wolf was 20 cents a round I used to pull the bullet and reload them with nosler accubonds and CFE BLK. I had a pretty good system for sizing and flaring the case mouths for .308 bullet. The steel cases have a couple grains higher capacity than brass and shot very very well. Easily sub moa in my rifle.

I remember finding a website once that was selling non corrosive primed empty steel 7.62x39 cases for like $75/1000. I should have bought 10,000 of them but I didn't and am still kicking myself.

You can find 7.62x39 in bulk on AmmoSeek. I just got a surprise when I looked it up on there. I never thought I would see a time when 7.62x39 would be nearly 50 cents a round. I no longer have a gun that uses that ammo. I haven’t had one in years.

I've been mulling over selling mine for a while now. I've got a PWS Mk116 Mod 1 in x39, purchased when I gave up looking for a 16" .300 Blackout. Naturally, between paying for it and receiving it I found a NOS carbine in .300 Blackout.

So now that I cannot buy Wolf as far as I know, what other brands are comparable.
If by comparable you mean general performance, the answer is pretty much any 7.62*39 you find should be fine for general shooting. If you mean price, well that ship has mostly sailed for the moment. I would expect other foreign brands of bulk steel case will eventually show up in a couple of years assuming the state department doesn't keep it out. I believe PSA was working on domestic factory as well though I haven't seen a recent update on their progress.

For now I think you best option is to check ammoseek and similar website to see what's available from different sellers.

One thing i have found with the PPU. I have to tumble it before loading the 1st time. If not the necks get what looks like a 12 point socket .
This last 200 ppu I got from Graff and sons I had to size before first load or the necks were not tight enough. Haven't tumbled anything for years and haven't seen necks like you mentioned except blanks.
If your too old to learn new tricks you might as well be dead an old mechanic once said. If you want please explain
