Hiya Guy's :) .
I just had a nice ,Serbian n-pap fall in my lap this afternoon . This popped up on the local gun Grapevine a couple days ago and I seen it as an investment opportunity because I'm betting the prices for them will only continue to climb over the next year or two just like the cheap Wasr 10 that's not so cheap any more or the Mak-90 that use to be $400 that's now selling for more than twice that ($800-900+). When this popped up on the local gun Grapevine I contacted the guy that had it and told him I was interested in buying it and I made him a cash offer. He told me that he might just be able to do that and he would contact me about it later. I heard from him yesterday when he accepted my offer so I told him I would run down to the bank and let him know when I had cash in hand so we could meet up and close the deal. I jumped in my new truck and ran down to the bank then sent him a text and told him I had cash in hand only to find out that he decided to back out on our deal and that he decided to trade it for a tupperware Glock or something insteadinstead, needless to say I was a little pissedpissed and I headed home to contact a couple guys on some gun safes. Well late yesterday evening it turns out that a friend ended up with this n-n-pap but he had no idea the guy that had it was double-dealing on it nor did he know that he stood me up for it so he ended up selling it to me for less than what I originally agreed to pay for it & we both ended up coming out ahead on the deal in the end. Now I hope that Karma reaches out and bites the other guy right Square in the azz just for kicks.

As far as this n-pap goes it's in really nice shape and has been well taken care of and I'm guessing someone's safe Queen from the looks of it because it's not deemed scratched or beat up in any way and it looks like it's had very little use if much at all. The furniture looks nice and it came with a typical PMAG that has the usual mag slop and overall it's just a nice clean AK & I have no problem letting it set in the gun safe and go up in value before I finally decide whether or not to sell if :) ...

Nice score on the N-Pap! Looks to be in LNIB shape! Glad to hear everything worked out okay despite the double dealing. Sounds like you've got a pretty decent friend there for him to be selling it to you for less than the original asking price. Definitely a win/win situation for you.

I had one for a while. Nice, robust, but a little heavy for me, and didn't sit on my shoulder quite right. Plus, for some reason the gundealer didn't want to sell me the folding stock one that I wanted and sold me the wooden stock one.

Picked up this FEG SA 85M in a trade quite a few years ago. I wanted a folding stock AK mainly for it's compactness and was very pleased with the build quality and overall fit and finish of the Hungarian built rifle. I refinished the wood furniture and added some paracord on the left strut of the stock for a little more comfort versus being up against the metal surface.

That is one sexy beast there. :)

Cool acquisition.

I have one I bought early in 2015. I think I paid around $530 for it new, plus shipping/transfer.

To be honest, I haven't fired it yet. Just never got around to it (that needs to change, I know!)

So are N- Paps pretty nice? I actually have one but to be honest have not looked at it since I brought it home. Threw it in the safe and pretty much had forgotten about it.

There’s a bunch them NIB at gun shops here. All the shops are asking $600 for them, even the underfolders. I like the look of them but for some reason the sights on them seem lower and just won’t line up with my eyes.

Beautiful!

But i'll admit, at first glance I thought you posted it was a Serbian c-pap...:what:

Glad for you it wasn't!

Stay safe.

IMHO. I have had dozens of various AKs. My favorite is the Hungarian 85s with an ULTIMAK forend rail and an M2 Aim point with the factory low ring which gives a lower 1/3 co witness . I have two of them in the safe in Oregon, one an under folder and the other a clone of the 63 model with foregrip . The build quality is great and the finish of internals very good and they are light ! A high quality piece! That said the early Arsenal Bulgies are nice too , but very different and a little heavier as they are forged.

Gordon said "...a little heavier as they are forged". This should be highlighted.

We know from the actual videos of very extensive testing by Rob Ski on "AK Operators Union" (and may other sources) that the main problem with AKs which are Built (note...Not the imported varieties...) by Century is that the critical components are mostly cast, instead of forged.
A former Marine who worked hotel night security (Tallahassee) told me that because some of their issue M4s failed in combat right after they had been cleaned, his personal rifle is a Yugo AK.
