I ave a ton of knives, but I'll spare you the assortment of (mostly) crap knives I have collected over the years. Here are my two EDC knives....

This is my CFK USA Matrix G10 Tracker, from CFK Cutlery. Nice feel and weight, and a nice thick blade.

I used this to dig holes for the Easter weekend lawn putt-putt golf course today.

More of Aldo's 5/32" 1084. Finished in a "rustic" scratch-and-etch. Not sure if I like how that turned out.

Scales are oil-finished white ash.

Grind is an asymetrical right handed full flat with convex secondary bevels.

The tip is ground thicker to help prevent gross failure when used for silly things like digging golf holes. ;)

Cheapo knife mods

Here are some of my carbon steel Moras with customized grinds and/or handles. The #2 on the far left is the one that started the collection. It's still my most-experienced Mora. But the itty bitty chopped #1 on the far right is quickly catching up as my all-purpose bench, carving, and marking knife.

Here's a pocket carving knife regrind that I just finished belting out. The spine has a modified clip point, ground a few degrees "crooked" to give it a sharper leading edge for scraping/deburring. The belly is stretched taut to further skinny the tip. I call the profile "Arizona Eye-Poker." My fingernails have never been so clean! (2 1/2" blade).

On their way to the New Seattle International Knife Show this weekend. If anyone is in the Seattle area, or Kirkland to be exact, drop on in and say Hi.

15n20 and 1084 Damascus.

Here is a knife I made a while a go. I forgot what type of wood I made the handle out of but the blade is made from 15n20-1084 Damascus that I made in my shop.

Sam thank you. It turned out great and garnered a lot of attention at the show.

Brin, Nice looking knife. The wood looks like cocbolo

Bldsmith, thanks for refreshing my memory, yes it is Cocobolo wood.

Sam, it looks good for a beater. What are you using for the handle material and what steel are you using?

Brin, it is Aldo spec 1084 with G10/FR4 scales.

Bit of experimentation going on with edge geometry too. I left the edge thicker than I usually do and cut a wide secondary bevel.
Not much performance difference between it and its nicer finished, symmetrically saber-ground thinner edged twin until you go to slice an apple or potato. Then the steerage to port is apparent (but not terribly objectionable.)

One of my Latest very reasonable price until you go into the new scales and sheaths.
