A THR knife PICTURE thread?!?!

Think so? They look even better when I don't hog them out with a 36 grit zirconia belt belt while smoking a cigar. ;)
I'm petitioning the administrative body to have the downward slope of an integral guard be officially called the "Shirley Droop."
:neener:

I'm kicking myself for not snapping a picture of the sibling knife of the one in post #795.:banghead: 1/2" circular choil with a tusk shaped Shirley Droop guard. Flats left as-is after heat treat. By far the best looking (though plain) knife I've made so far.

My apologies for the poor pictures.

I acquired this piece this weekend.

Ivory Atkinson - distal taper, jimping, red liners, dovetailed bolster

8670 and Damascus

Here are two knives I made. The top one is a Damascus sandwich made with two pieces of Damascus ( I made) forged to the sides of a piece of 8670 sawmill steel. I Have fond that this Cambrian work very well to getter. The other knife is made out of 8670. The handles are Brazilian redwood of the two designs I like the one with the guard.

Scales are heavily tapered and the tang is skeletonized.

POB is just behind the north end pin.

Pattern 8 EDC.

3 1/2" worth of edge.

Less drop in the grip and a bit shorter than the last one. Which was a Pattern 12. I think. :D

This one is in 1/8" (nominally) 15n20*.

I met Sam Cade at the ATKA NE Regional competition in Berwyn, PA this weekend. Had a fantastic time, met his two amazing sons, and I actually did well throwing knives and 'hawks this year - more than doubled my score since the last competition.
