hso: I wish I had one of the original "Silent Partner" to go along with this knife. The first versions of the "Silent Partner" are very rare and get into the triple $$$ figures when one comes up.
What I understand is the Ek family now owns the company again. They have all the original registration cards for these knives. I understand that they will "document" this knife for a fee if I return it to them. I don't know if its true or not but I further read that if they have the original registration card they will return it with the knife. I would really like to do that but there is not a single parcel service I would trust this knife to.
The knife, card and a "Silent Partner" would make a great shadow box display on the wall here in my study.
I've read the story you mentioned when he went before the War Production Board at this interesting web site. I believe it to be a true story.
