Airgun forums have sure changed!

I don't know how my two RWS 45's fit into all of this, but they are the best air guns I've ever owned, and I doubt I'll ever have anything better.

3Crows,

I am well aware of what a signature (sig as you call it) line is and where it is located. It does not display when using the forum with my smart phone. And just because you say something or quote something there doesn't make it valid under all circumstances.

We will have to part ways here. Too much disagreement between us and many of your conclusions baffle me. And they weren't even posted as opinions but fact.

Spring/gas piston guns are just too heavy and too large to carry. They are also not especially accurate for several reasons including the barrel not returning to EXACTLY the same place at each cock. Then there is the reverse recoil that damages scopes. They are good for maybe 7 to 10 yards and beyond that the groups just fall apart. But a Benjamin 392 pumper or a PCP can hang with a .22LR at 25 yards or more for accuracy. And they are small and light and easily carried.
I didn't read that before I made my other post, BUT my one of my RWS 45's has an air gun scope on it, and it's been on there for more than 25 years, the scope today, is just as good as the day I put it on, and it's had many thousands of pellets put down the bbl. with that scope on it. It's never had a moments problem...

As for accuracy, I won't quote groups on paper, but I can hit a red squirrel in the head every shot at 30 yards, so that's good enough for me...

IF I'm shooting further and want super accuracy, I'll take one of my Anschutz's or my NULA 22's out...

That is fine by me. And I will stay with what I said. I do not care much for spring air rifles and I gave my reasons. Much rather a compact pump or a strong PCP rifle.

I called it a signature line in the first reference and in the second reference I abbreviated it to sig. You did not even read what I said in your haste to hurry and say how wrong I am.

The "stuff" that goes along with the PCP habit has kept me off of them. It's hard to beat a classic pump Blue Streak, but to their credit the springers don't sound like a pellet rifle to the neighbors. PCP, C02 and pump do, even when moderated.

A C02 pistol is a whole lot of fun, indoors with a pellet trap or out.

The only watchout I'm aware of for springers is they need a dedicated safe-for-springers scope.
