I've searched the site a few tiems with google because i dont know if its been posted here yet, but I read about it on another forum when I got up this morning. It is terrible that the officer lost his life under any circumstances. He was shot by a pharmacist who was stopped for a simple traffic violation. He has a concealed deadly weapons permit.

What other kind of concealed carry permit is there? Does it matter that he had the permit?
I read the sarcasm woven into your statement but I cannot decipher why you would post such an asinine question.

We have an active thread about a middle aged woman shooting a man in self defense; I thought that since most of us CC that an incident such as this should be brought to the community’s attention. If I am incorrect I have faith that a Moderator will step in.

Yes, this is on topic because the anti-gunners will jump on it like fleas on a dog.

Every gun guy needs to be aware of things like this to know the anti-gunners will be using this for more controls.

Gads! Just what we need in times like this.

I don’t know what we can do but fore-warned is fore-armed.

This isn't gun related, it is incident related.

Just as an aside, in a free country, you never hear the phrase "routine traffic stop." In this case, and in the case of the four cops killed at the coffee shop, every cop that gets in front of a camera seems to be in massive denial as to why most of the public hates them. The media trotted out some blathering woman who in between sobs, uttered the "they are there to protect and serve" nonsense. Sometimes even I forget the denial that the government worshipers live in. I would LOVE to see police deserve more respect, and I would love to see the law itself respected more, but those things don't happen magically and are not things that can be automatically expected (contrary to the denial based beliefs that many people live in). If the profits from traffic tickets went to a part of government that is NOT connected to the cop who issued it, that would be a good start.

I agree with ClayInTX. However tragic incidents like these may be, they need to be brought to the attention of gun owners, and anyone else who values their right to keep and bear arms. Incidents like these could be used against the cause, and should therefore be made known among us.
