Almost pulled my gun on the maid...

While not in a hotel when this happened, something of a similar, yet totally obvious nature, happened to me.

My roommate and I lived on the first floor of a 3 story apartment complex. We found out the residents of the 3rd floor were herion addicts. We were very careful not to have the traffic areas visible. One night my friend and I went to smoke (we didn't smoke inside). Go figure, the addicts were walking up while we had the door open. Gave them a great view into the apartment. Well what a suprise, the very next morning I wake up to the sound of someone trying to open my bedroom window, at 0500. At the time, I didn't get up until 7 at the earliest. I reached into my nightstand, got my SIG and held it close to the window. All it took was a quick rack of the slide and both people had a quick change of heart.

Then I proceeded to call the cops. Of course while I was on the phone I acted like they heard me talking on the phone and ran off. :D

My thought on your situation is this;
IF it was the maid, then why did he ignore the DND sign? Speaking and reading English isn't an excuse. The hotel uses the same sign throughout, so it is visually the same. It was just plain inconsiderate of the employee to ignore the sign and verbal warnings. IF it was an employee.

Glad to hear things worked out for the best. If you are going to be there for a while longer, take care and go home safe.
