Statistics showing that "more guns means more gun deaths" are plumb ridiculous. Rather like this one: which country has the absolute lowest per capita highway deaths? The Marshall Islands. Why? No cars! So what?

Countries with lower "gun-related homicide" include Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Turkmenistan... Are they safer places to live?

In my blog at gunliberal.treffle.com you can find some useful graphics and figures like these:

• Despite its citizens having way more firearms than any other country, the US has about an average murder rate. (#108 worldwide, or #7 in the G20)
  
• Ranking the states in the US by homicide rate, and comparing this to the Brady ranking for tough gun laws, shows no correlation at all between the two.
  
• Do more guns mean more killing? The US is #20 worldwide in the lowest number of homicides per gun; that's lower than Australia, England, or Japan. We are among the lowest in the developed world too:
