So I love putting loaded ammo in the hornady and nosler boxes the bullets come in. I use the foam that comes in the nosler boxes to make them fit tight so they don’t rattle when full.
But there’s always a limited supply. (Hornady box only holds 30 308 win rounds) so where does the rest of the ammo go? Loose in a can is ok for long term. Boxes from midway are Ok, but they take up a lot more space. Mtm plastic boxes rattle and won’t stack in an ammo can effectively.

The solution? Wife sells jewelry, it comes in these little boxes. She seems to have a never ending supply of them (is she buying it for herself or selling it?) So you carefully take it apart and turn it inside out and it’s a plain white box. Not as heavy as the good hornady boxes, but it will do for free. Plus they stack efficiently into a 30 cal ammo can!

She’s making some “spare” money and I get free boxes win win!

Midway sells the foam/cardboard boxes that mimic OEM boxes for cheap too.

Great idea Sam T1.

That's certainly one way to think outside the (cartridge) box. ;)

Maybe in the future, you could have the company that prints up her boxes to do you some in Woodland Camo?

I bet that’s a possibility. I’ll have to see if she can get me that info. She is just a “consultant” in a “direct marketing” company.

They are too big compared to these. I have some and love how they look, but they don’t store well in ammo cans or in the pickup console.

U-line sells a great many boxes of all shapes and sizes. I have made one out of a manila folder, but it was very homemade looking, effective but crude.

I too, dislike the rattle of ammunition boxes. I have resigned to a hard sided, topped container, lined with fabric, for my "bulk" pistol container. (Ice cream bucket and t-shirt.;))

I wouldn't bother turning them inside out. Think of it as 'pretty camouflage'. No one will suspect the lethal flowers!

Since your wife is getting them for $1000 a box they should work well (have you looked at your credit card statement ? ) ;p (just teasing)

I just used the ammo cans that were designed to carry ammo in the first place. They get a little heavy when full, but if you use 30 cal cans, they don't get too heavy.
