Geez, I this is killing me. I've had it in my head that I was going to get a bergara. A few guys at my range got them and put arkens on top of them and what they're doing with CCI SV at 100 was impressive. What I was able to do, without spending significant time on the rifle had me giddy.
Then ... on my last couple of range trips I got to shoot a guy's ruger precision, oh crap!!! Now I'm not so sure.
I can't say that one shot better than the other, but at half the price, the ruger was impressive.
We're trying to get a bergara and a ruger on the line at the same time to shoot some ARA cards in a match simulation. If the ruger can hold its own, it's gonna be like getting a free scope.
The ruger I shot came with a 30 MOA rail too. Regardless of which one edges the other out, the ruger is definitely a good bang for the buck from what I've seen thus far.
As for the ammo, stick with SV. I dont want to argue about what happens when a bullet goes transonic, but i can say that i get better results beyond about 75 yards with SV ammo. SV will get out there. I shoot a lot of CCI SV. It isn't the best, but it's a good bang for the buck. If you're really lucky, your rifle will love it.
