Anderson Lower - customer service

I have sold a couple dozen Anderson Lowers, mostly stripped, and none of my customers (several have purchased multiple Andersons) nor myself have yet had a reason to contact Anderson customer service. They seem to be a great value for the money and are very hard to keep in stock. I will be using one for my next build, probably with a PSA upper.

this, and I have 1 additional complaint about them as well: they don't put the safe/fire marking on both sides of the gun. Fine for most, but I'm a lefty with a left hand selector in the gun.
Most LH safety selectors have a notch or line or arrow on the flat end to point at the fire/safe markings on the LH side of the gun as you hold it.

The only thing I've felt was a problem is that on Anderson lowers you have to use a shorter grip screw.

If you know that ahead of time then you're prepared and you have the shorter grip screw already in hand and it doesn't come as a surprise. If it comes at a surprise and the build has to wait until you can either go get one at a local gun shop or you order one and the thing arrives in the mail. That's a pain in the ass.

On a thread on a different forum several posters stated that this was no longer an issue and that all the new Anderson lowers use a standard grip screw. I haven't confirmed that myself and the Anderson lowers I've built guns off of were a couple years old.

That shorter grip screw is the only issue I've run into and I've assembled a fairly wide array of lowers (1 Noveske, 7 PSA, 1 Superior Arms, 2 RRA, 1 CY6 and 2 Anderson).

In my experience Anderson works fine.

A couple of washers under the screw head and the problem is solved, not a big deal. I got mine from AIM Surplus for $40 which seemed like a great deal at the time.

Anderson also sell ones with an integral full trigger guard so no trigger guard assembly is required, no possible breakage.

My only AR construction, went perfectly with a PSA complete kit supplying everything else needed.

Mine was bought last December. Assembled fine with standard screw
See? Even that is no longer an issue.

There's a certain segment of the population who will run something down and dog on it if it's affordable. It isn't just guns, that goes for tools, cars/trucks, sports equipment, shoes and boots and so on. Some people just like to complain and they think that in complaining about something that makes them appear to be a subject matter expert.

These days it seems like you'd have to actively hunt and search high and low to find an AR lower that sucks. The AR market is so competitive these days that a company isn't going to stay in business very long. It's not like in the 80's or 90's when there were only a few companies to choose from. Now it seems like every time I turn on the computer or flip open a magazine some other company has opened their doors and is hanging their shingle up.

The miracle of good standards and CNC machining.

I built a pistol with an Anderson lower a couple of months ago. Standard grip screw worked just fine. Bought another one the other day, and will build it as soon as the BBT brings my LPK (tomorrow).

2 years ago all 5 Andersons I ordered required the shorter grip screw. Kinda makes you wonder how much it would really raise their bottom line to tap that last 1/4".... On the other hand, for $60 after transfer, I'll shorten a grip screw with a hacksaw and file.

I ordered an Anderson lower and my FFL said they are junk. He built one that cracked after the first test round. Customer service was not helpful and it took him months to remedy the situation. Anyone have any customer service experiences with Anderson? Thanks.

You are gonna have to elaborate the details on this issue before its even considered true. Without any further info, we will have to assume your FFL does not know how to build AR15's.

Many AR15 owners including myself have built rifles on Anderson lowers with zero issues. My local FFL sells hundreds of Anderson lowers and he's never reported a buyer having issues with them. I wish I took a pic of his supply the last time I bought 3 lowers from him. He had 3 full boxes of Anderson lowers that contained maybe 50 per box in his store.
