Not really that lucky but I do seem to stumble onto gun deals quite often around here.Snake, I have to ask. Have you always been “Lucky”? You find some of the nicest looking revolvers. That’s a beauty.
I consider the snubby M19 to be one of the best looking revolvers ever. Not my favorite to shoot, though......
Well, I should have specified not my favorite shooter with the wood grips (although they look great). Add a set of Hogues and its a whole 'nother story. I have other .357s that usually get the nod for plinking, though, so I keep the pretty trees on my M19NIGHTLORD40K
A friend of mine had one that he slicked up a bit and with some heavy duty handloads I managed to put 6 rounds all in the black. I surprised myself with that group mainly because it had been awhile since I shot a revolver (let alone a .357 snubby with fire breathing loads in it), but that I did it firing as fast as I could squeeze the trigger! That short barreled Model 19 just felt great and balanced perfectly in my hand.
Anyone have a manufactured date on serial #ALC8XXX, thank you
Yeah, the wooden panels look great, I find them much more eye appealing than any rubber grip made. But I have found in these smaller-grip revolvers they’re not much fun at all after a few magnum shots are fired.Well, I should have specified not my favorite shooter with the wood grips (although they look great). My biggest mistake was leaving the 2.5” in the holster too long between wipe downs. The tanning solution in the leather took the bluing off the left side of the muzzle and a touch on the cylinder, leaving some small shiny spots.
Whew! Just in time .Your comment alerted to me to my GP-100, so I went to check it. Sure enough, there was a 1/8 inch spot on the tip of the barrel in the same spot as yours. I took it to the kitchen as I have a stainless steel potscrubber there and it did the trick with just a few strokes. Thanks for the heads-up !!
Don't buy up everything in Idaho before I retire and leave this state ...Not really that lucky but I do seem to stumble onto gun deals quite often around here.
