another great video by sootch00 with a gunsmith going over the ria 5.0. you get a better idea of how the gun unlocks the locking block. didnt show how the trigger mechanism works maybe that is common knowledge. i can't wait to see this gun in my lgs. i hope the machining on the main production will be as good on the early guns.

Oh, great - another short recoil locked breech design claiming to be superior to Browning's tilting barrel. Never heard of that before...

I think it looks pretty darn cool!
Nice to see something different

I like the CZ 52 7.62 x 52 with it's roller lock action.

So a pistol built specifically for competition with no class with it being SAO, 17rd, 9mm.
10rd ESP? Limited Minor? meh

The key to the mechanism is the wedge profile on the front of the guide rod. This is what moves the locking block.

But that worries me a little bit. The camming action on the guide block has a complimentary force in the other direction -- pinching the spring between the rod and barrel. You don't usually see recoil springs as a friction bearing surface. Maybe it's a worry over nothing -- it's all oiled steel on oiled steel, which might be fine.

Some of the gun channels who tested it out at shot show had malfunctions. One of the guys had a bunch of light primer strikes. It doesn't fit any niche or check any box for me. I'm not a competitive shooter, it costs to much to be a cheap plinker, its to big for ccw, I already have several large framed metal framed 9mm handguns for open carry that I would trust a lot more than this one, and its a new design for this company which usually means problems the first year or 2. Its just a hard pass for me. I'm sure there is a segment out there that will buy it up though, and its always good to see something new.

It was on God family and country YouTube channel. I had posted it in this thread but that post was lost when they tried to update the forum last week. I think it's gone now anyhow, a preemptive delete due to YouTube's recent policy change. A lot of channels have had a ton of their videos deleted.
