Any reason 357 brass is hard to find?

Walkalong I have starline, extreme and the Missouri links. I would appreciate the other you have thanks.

I have 3000 in my inventory and am always looking for more. Most of mine has 12-15 loads on it and neck tension is really starting to decline. I'm cracking brass each time I load, and each time I shoot. It may be good that the gun has been out of commission for a long while which actually is what brought me to THR

The most economical and fastest way to buy any new brass is from Starline direct. They are much cheaper than their suppliers that carry it, and, orders for over $50 they ship free.
Just find your cartridge and get your name on the "notify me" list.
They, and I am sure all brass manufacturers, do not run all calibers all the time, they rotate.

Thanks for that info. It never occurred to me to check their website to see if they sell direct. :(

Walkalong,
would appreciate the links.
I am looking for .357 brass as well.
For some reason people just won't cooperate and throw it down on the range for me to pick up for free.....:(

So I am actually condsidering buying brass.

Yeah, wassup with that? :D

If is not uncommon for me to walk up/down the range to see what people are shooting. If I see a guy shooting a loud revolver, I'll ask if he is shooting 357. If so, I ask him if for his brass if he doesn't reload. I've gotten about 100 casings so far doing that.

Glad I stumbled onto this thread! I have 2 5 quart ice cream buckets of 357 brass that have been gathering dust mostly, as I have yet to wear out the 300 that I am currently circulating through my reloads. I was going to trade them off at bulk brass prices - but now, I'm thinking I should just hang onto them for awhile longer.

You could always send them to me.
I be happy to polish and test them for you:D

I would even go so far as testing and polishing them a couple of times just to make sure they were safe for you to use.

Nothing wrong with using .38 special brass, instead.
Check out the loading data for the 38-44 round.
Works very well up to the mid range .357 equivalent, especially with short bullets.

We get them every so often. How much you looking for? They run 9 cents each. It would be a backorder but hopefully not a long one as we sort everyday.

wstoldt you should post a link, just so we can have it in our links to look for. I'll be looking for 44spl and 44mag brass probably a few months down the road.

I love to shoot 357's. About several months ago at a local garage sale I found 500 once fired 357 brass. It looked brand new with just some normal dark spots around the mouth. Don't remember the price exactly but I think it was $10 for all of it. He was almost giving it away.....
He said a bunch of guys had looked at it but no one wanted it??????

I had been looking for some for a while, you never know where you'll find it.

Garage sales and Gun shops (ask for it ) and Gun shows are my first stops.

TxDon

Found some Winchester nickel at a local gun store. I have not reloaded nickel before. Is it use able? Thanks.

I should be set for a while. Just got my back oder for a 1000. Tex nickel works fine. Use it with the xtreme lead bullets and you get werewolf bullets. .
