Particularly their Dan Wesson parts. Barrels wrenches, etc?

Reliable? Do they actually have the parts they advertise?

thnx

I've bought a few Dan Wesson items from them, no complaints. Of late, a lot of items are marked sold out. My understanding is they are a machine shop business and the firearms parts are a sideline. Hindered by the recent covid mess.

I bought a used 15-2 with 8 inch barrel a few years ago. Bought a barrel wrench and 4 inch heavy shroud barrel from EWK. Top quality stuff. I also wonder if they are as committed to Dan Wesson revolvers as they used to be.

That's correct. The E, of EWK, is Eric, and he has a day job. He move some years ago, and was having issues getting his shop setup at the new place... and, honestly, I don't know that he ever did. I've corresponded with him via email... he was supposed to have a run of DW .41 barrels and shrouds... which are desperately needed... but I don't believe they ever materialized. As was mentioned, every time I look at his shop, nearly everything is sold out.

If you go over to the Dan Wesson Forum and ask, you might get a better answer.

I have bought barrel nut wrenches off of EWK for a .22 and .357 15-2 Dan Wesson revolver, everything worked well.

I also bought a 3” VH shroud-barrel set for my 15-2 Monson, Massachusetts frame. It is as nice looking and accurate as my 15-2 pistol pac 2-4-6-8” variety of VH shrouds. (I bought the second DW frame with no barrel/shroud or grip off GB several years ago. From a New York seller, no less. ;) )

The grip is a Hogue cocobolo, the white-insert front sight blades are DW OEM.

Stay safe.

Eric made some custom springs for me for a pork chop Dan Wesson several years ago for a member of this board who lives in a different country. I sent the guy the springs and he was very happy. Also if the danwessonforum.com is still active he can be found there. There are many people there that will vouch for him. Also CZ-USA has some revolver parts still in stock possibly. I ordered a new 6" .357 barrel from them just a couple of years ago.

EWK stuff is great, if it is ever in stock. I bought a wrench and a couple of other items years ago. I wanted to buy a barrel and shroud, but it's always out of stock...

I bought a 4” VH for my DW .22 from CZ.

It’s as nice as the original DW ones.

But I fear us DW fans will be relegated to the used market for adding future barrels and shrouds to our guns. 😞

Stay safe.

Looking back in my email file, my last email from Eric was in NOV of 2021... and he was busy with other stuff. Given the out of stock status of most of his items in his 'shop' I'mma guess he's not making stuff at the moment.

Does EWK still maintain a waiting list? I remember that's how I got my 4in. heavy shroud barrel. Took a few months but I knew that when I signed up. Several years ago and I don't remember the actual order and payment details so must have also went well.

Their website doesn't offer DW barrels or shrouds. Just small parts. And the parts are either in stock or they are not. Nothing about a waiting list.,

Only purchased from them once. Barrel wrench for a 357. No complaints & would buy again.

I'm interested in an eight inch stainless barrel, in case anybody has one. I went to an extremely "meh" gun show yesterday, but Dan Wessons are in short supply.

You didn't mention what chambering. The .357's are most plentiful, and, in fact, can still be ordered from CZ. Other sources would be GunBroker, eBay, and the classifieds at DanWessonForum dot com.

If you are looking for something more esoteric... good luck. I've been looking for a .41 DW barrel set for 10 years.

Yes, I'm looking for an eight inch barrel (model 715; stainless) and shroud in 357 magnum. I watch ebay and gunbroker, but it's an unusual item. CZ stopped making the gun and don't stock what I need.

Thanks for the response.

The Dan Wesson forum appears to be all but dead. I've tried joining/logging on several times to no avail.

Did you call them? I know they stopped production on the CZ/DW .357, but they still had genuine DW parts from before the buyout. Granted, that was some time ago... they may have blown through all of them.

Truth being stranger than fiction... in my alerts just today... a 4" .41 barrel set! Yes, it's blue, and my .41 is stainless, but beggars can't be choosers. The auction goes for 14 days, and I expect the set to end for more than I paid for my entire pistol... but you never know.
