I am wondering if any of you are running a red dot and a low to medium range scope on your AR's or a red dot and a long range scope? If so, can you list your set up's and show some pictures of them for me? I still have not figured out if I want to do just a low power scope or a red dot and a low power scope. Supposedly, there are people shooting targets out to 500-600 yards with red dot sights and I do not know about you guys but while I might be able to make out a target at that range and am fairly confident I would not be able to hit something at that range with a freaking red dot. In fact, I find that a little hard to believe but there are some people doing it. There are even videos floating around on youtube. Anyways show me those set ups please. Sadly, I thought I had this all figured out and was on my way to purchase a Lucid HD7 but now I am second guessing that decision.

A 2 moa dot covers 2" of the target at 100 yards, need to be a pretty big target to use it at 600.

I only use dual optics for 3 gun (depending on what class/game I am playing). Generally its a variable in the normal location and something like the Cmore on the handguard. So a slight rotation of the rifle switches you from a long range optic to a short range one, without changing head position.

I was running a 1-4.5 scope with a TRS25 red dot on an offset mount for 3 gun for a while. I've switched to a Burris 332 now though and wouldn't go back to the dual optic system.

I've got an EOtech 512 on my AR and I really want to get the flip up magnifier to go with it but I think the mini red dot an scope solution is a better setup in most cases.

My next optic setup is going to be a redfield 2-7x33mm scope and a mini red dot(RMR or fastfire) mounted at about 45 degrees to the right of the top rail.
