Are you really worried about printing?

I don't dress around my gun hardly at all, and I am not really worried about printing. Most people are oblivious. I also have a short crew cut, wear nice clothes, and call most people sir or ma'am, so I doubt they would think I'm a criminal even if they knew I had a gun.

Once, for an observation exercise, I had to run into a classroom, shout at the instructor, pull a gun and shoot six blanks (we went through all the proper channels and security to do this pre VT) at a college. So I went and did it and then ran out of the room, down the hall, down 3 flights of stairs and into the parking lot. Once down there, I discovered that I still held the gun IN MY HAND, (it was a 4" stainless Ruger Security Six) and none of the people that I passed in the hallway, in the stairwell or in the parking lot even noticed.

No, I'm not worried about printing.

You're a brave man, glad that wasn't where I go to school. I've been taking at least one class a semester for the past 10 years, and I ignore the "no guns on campus" rule. Chances are, I'd have dropped you.

Yesterday I picked my mom up at the airport with my Dan Wesson Bobtail on my hip in a Milt Sparks holster. Just like this, wide open to the world:

I picked her up at the curb and she gave me a slight hug then got in my truck while I loaded her luggage. My wife, who was with me, was open carrying her Springfield EMP also.

We drove for about 20 minutes and stopped to get something to eat. When we got out I asked my mom if she had seen my gun and she said no. She doesn't have a problem with it but I wanted to make sure I didn't surprise her. We went inside and ordered then sat down when she asked "Where is your gun?"

I had to lean to the left and turn in her direction. She smiled and said "I didn't even see it."

I am sure there are people that are a little more familiar with guns and might take notice but it's kinda funny when my own mom didn't. :D

El Paso County has the largest number of CHPs of any county in the state and it's still something like less than 2 % so there's not a whole lot of people doing it here and no one thinks to look. I carry around the in laws & grandkids all the time . The grand kids are convinced that I'm a jungle gym & I haven't been made yet.

I'm not worried AT ALL about "printing" because open carry is completely legal in Ohio. I don't NEED to conceal, I just prefer to, so someon getting a brief, inadvertent glimpse of my piece is totally inconsequential to me.

I am careful to choose the correct shirt ( I carry IWB) so I do not print. I am in Florida and you can lose your CCW if your weapon becomes visible and someone reports it. The Smith 642 and the Kel Tecs are very popular down here. I carry a Glock27 and a BUG either the 642 or P32.

I am glad Maine does not have anti-printing laws, because that would surely spoil my ease of mind. It has taken me months to reach this peaceful state while carrying, and laws like that would booger it all up. I was convinced I was going to be made for the first four months I was carrying. It hasn't happened yet, and I finally have high quality holsters instead of the pre-made ones I had been using previously. I am set.

I have been carrying since I became aware of it (before ccw). I started carrying concealed and continue that method. Yes I buy my clothes around my methods of carry. How you carry also depends on the weather and what your activities for the day will be. Perps can't take from you what they don't know about.
